Care
of Students:
The Dance Studio is not responsible
for providing before or after class care for students. Students
are not to be left at the school for excessive time periods
before or after class time. Your account may be charged an
additional fee if your failure to pick up your child on time
causes our staff to remain at the studio past their normal
working hours. Students are not to leave the studio without
a parent or other responsible adult. Please let the school
know if a student has permission to leave the studio without
a parent. The studio assumes no responsibility for any student
once they have left the building.

Attendance
and Lateness:
Children should arrive five minutes
before their class starts. Students must be ready for class
(bathroom, dressed, hair done, etc). The school reserves the
right to have students who come late to class sit out the
class. It is not safe for a student to participate in a class
without having properly warmed up. Repeated lateness or absences
may hinder the privilege of performing in the end of the year
recital, especially if speaking or singing lines or dance
solos are given.

Spring Recital Costumes:
There are no extra fees for costumes
for the spring recital, (unless the student joined the school
after October) and the student gets to keep the costume after
the show. If you have costumes from past years that you have
outgrown or no longer use, you may donate them back to the
studio. These costumes are used for our other performances
throughout the year, and the students have so much fun "dressing
up!"

Performances:
There will be a Christmas Recital,
tentatively set for the Saturday of the second full weekend
in December, and the annual end-of year recital the third
weekend in May. There are also various performance opportunities
throughout the year of which you will be notified. Keep your
eye on the events page for those dates. As always, there are
no costumes to purchase or costume fees to pay for these recitals.
Tickets must be purchased for the end-of year recital in May.
They go on sale the week after spring break.

Vacation
Days:
During the school year, The Dance
Studio is closed only when the public school system has a
full closure. (Thanksgiving, Christmas Break, and Spring Break.)
Please note that The Dance Studio remains open even when the
schools are closed for in-service days or for parent-teacher
conferences. When in doubt as to whether there are classes
or not, please call.

Class
Viewing Dates:
Parents, grandparents and friends are
invited to stay and watch classes the weeks of November 6-1,
2006 and February 19-24, 2007. During these weeks, please
remember to be considerate of the students-extra noise and
activity on the sidelines is distracting, especially for the
younger students. If it is not a class-viewing week, you are
always welcome to peek in on class through the windows. The
Dance Studio also holds two recitals annually, one in December
and one in May.

Make-up
classes, withdrawals and refunds:
Missed classes may be made up within
one month of the missed lesson, as long as the Studio was
informed that the student would be absent. No refunds will
be given. Contact the School for a make-up class schedule.
A one-month written notice from the first of the month is
required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal forms may
be picked up at the studio. Withdrawal must occur within the
first 7 days of the month. Students withdrawing after March
7 will still be responsible for making payments through the
end of the school year. To withdrawal from classes, a parent
or adult student must:
1. Inform the school, and
2. Complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the studio.
After the one-month period, automatic withdrawal from checking
accounts will be discontinued.

~ Why Dance With Us? ~
1. SMALL CLASS SIZES - An important
thing to look at when choosing a studio is the class size.
Smaller class sizes assure a good instructor-student relationship.
This gives the instructor a better chance to recognize the
students' abilities, and gives the student more opportunity
to improve to his or her capabilities. The dance studio limits
class sizes and insures better teacher-student ratios.
2. QUALIFIED TEACHERS - Not all good
dancers are good teachers. That "former Blazer Dancer,"
or "former St. Petersburg Ballet dancer" may not
have the patience or understanding to pass on what they have
learned. Our teaching staff is highly qualified teachers who
have been educated in the realm of dance and have had experience
in teaching as well as in dancing.
3. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Often when
you call a dance studio it is hard to get to speak to a person.
You leave a message, or two, or more before hearing back from
some one. At the Dance Studio, you will experience one of
two things. You will speak directly to a knowledgeable staff
member immediately, or will receive a return phone call within
24 hours of your original call.
4. GREAT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT - Our
studio provides an optimal learning environment. We have an
entire wall of full-length mirrors in the front of the studio.
The other three sides are lined with barres for ballet technique.
Since parents leave the studio during classes, the potential
distraction caused by extra people in the classroom is alleviated.
Also, during the class, the teacher is focused on teaching.
There are no added responsibilities such as nswering the phone
or dealing with customer service. All this maximizes the positive
experiences in the classroom.
5. *EXTRAS BONUSES FUN STUFF* - What,
you mean there's more!? Each student gets a Dance Studio t-shirt
when they register. Also, at the end of the year, the recital
costume is theirs to keep. AND each family will receive a
DVD of the end of year recital. All of these things are offered
FREE, just for becoming a part of our studio family.
